
Pro Hub Shaver
The Pro-Hub shaver reduces friction between the axle head and wheel by removing defects in the outer hub area of the wheel.
| The way that you use the Pro Hub Shaver depends on which kind of wheels you have. The old style wheels have "TM" after the "Pinewood Derby" lettering on the outside of the wheel. The new style wheels have an "R" inside a circle on the new style wheels. |

Removes imperfections and smooths the outer hub area on the old style wheels. |

Removes imperfections and the extra step around the outer hub area on the new style wheels. |

The Pro Hub tool is needed to use the Pro Hub Shaver.
Instructions for old style wheels:

1. Slide the Hub Shaver onto the pin of the Hub Tool with the cutting edge outwards. |

2. Place a wheels onto the pin of the tool, spoke-side first. With one hand, hold the tool and with the other hand press the wheel against the tool. Rotate the wheel three complete revolutions. |

3. Check that all imperfections have been removed from the outer hub. Repeat if needed. But avoid cutting too deep into the wheel. |

Instructions for new style wheels:

1. Before beginning, a modification to the tool is required. Use a metal file to file the top of the cutter at a 15 degree angle with the highest spot at the cutter edge. |

2. Smooth the filed surface with a sharpening stone or #400 sandpaper. |
3. Now follow the instructions for the old style wheels. Use the tool until the second step is completely removed. |
